Hello everyone,
I'm a new member. I own 1992 Isuzu Pickup. I'm curious if there are any other Pickup owners out there. Is there another name that they go by in other countries?
I plan on working on my truck, but I am unsure what would be the most ideal plan of attack. Should I start with the engine (it has roughly 175,000 km on it so it runs pretty well)? I'd like to lift it by about 3", so should I do that first? It also needs a new paint job...should that be the first item to address? Any advice would be appreciated.
Also, I want to add a Bull Bar (Bush Bar) to the front of it but it has been difficult to find one. Does anyone know if I could use Rodeo or Trooper parts?
Thanks for you help everyone. Looking forward to joining in on discussions.
Cheers!

Paint doesnt look too bad. What do you want to use it for? If its bush bashing forget the paint. If its just for looks forget the lift

Hey Geeves, thanks for the response. Great points. I guess what I plan to do is take it out 4X4ing every now and then, but not in extreme rock climbing scenarios. More just enjoyable back country- light to medium difficulty. As far as looks, I kind of prefer the lifted look, but I can see why you might find the standard height more optically pleasing. I was also considering just adding a couple of lift blocks on the back end and leaving the front.
What sort of mechanical/engine improvements or overall vehicle mods would you consider first?

If it was me i would put a body lift and 33's and see how you like that

As its leaf spring blocks wont work. Either new springs or extended shackles. Check up on your local rules first though. Shackles require an engineers cert in NZ. Front is easy as its torsion bar About half way down the car on each side there is a large nut. This adjusts it. Also wise to remove the top ball joint and reinstall it under the arm and get a wheel alignment

Added a roll bar and lights. I like the retro look.

I'm looking to add a bush bar/bull bar...don't know what is the more common term...to the front bumper.
