Auto tranny convert to manual right, but no clutch. cool to me.

Not done it yet, but plan on adding a Rail Shifter to control the auto box from a 4jg2.
Something like: http://www.radesignsproducts.com/rail-controller.html
One issue would be remembering to disable the TCC circuit before shifting.

Re: anyone built there own transmission controller ?
I'm thinking I could use the od switch off = manual and mount 2 simple on off toggle switches and a 3rd for lock up under the elbow rest lip.
I'm yet to confirm as much engine braking in manual as automatic shift solenoid driving,
Also suspect computer safeties null so much easier to wind up to destruction the drive train if my coffee falls over and bumps the switches.
It was quite nice having manual lock up ability or unlock
I think I'd prefer paddle switches on the steering wheel
and the ability to charge my phone with the aux lead which I mount with velcro to become hands free onto the factory no airbag steering wheel.

Re: anyone built there own transmission controller ?
I drove on the 3 toggle switches for about an hour in town and motorway with many full stops and starts.
with practice much nicer unloaded gear changes with my foot off the gas got closer, it still shifted the same [ as computer driven ] if I changed without taking my foot off the gas.
I had four lights monitoring the shift solenoids computer outputs and my 2 switch settings so I could watch the brain suggested shifts and confirm shift solenoids getting powered.
