Looking at having my engine redone as per the advert here.

Curious to see if anyone on the forum has used isuzu parts and service in Auckland?

They are one of the 2 main wreckers for Isuzu parts. I have bought minor patrts from them no issue

Curious as that price to recondition the motor is around half of my other quotes.

Considering the new head for my wizard cost 1600 its a cheap price. However reading between the lines you get new liners and rings but keep your pistons you get new big end bearings but no mention of mains crank or oil pump. If these parts are needed you are pretty much stuck with a dismantalled engine and their costings for the other parts so read the fine print
Whats wrong with your engine? What age and mileage?

Allegedly 230k, have been told best case scenario liners are buggered, 1997.
Supposedly had new liners a year ago before I bought it. Maybe it did but whoever put them in didn't know what they were doing

They dont normally rebuild the engine they refurbish it, which is just fix whats broken and reuse all the parts they can, i saw them do liners without removing the engine

Does it work ok? ..I'm a little cautious as I'm not certain it wasn't them who did this same engine a year or so back

My comment read the fine print obviously stands. I would worry about a 230km engine that has already had a rebuild and needs doing again. Either the mileage is wrong or the maintenance wasnt up to spec so what other damage wasnt fixed

I know the parts were bought from isuzu parts and service and I can see a charge for taking the motor out . But there doesn't seem to be a labour charge except around 600 for taking the motor out.
