Wipe out what you can with a rag or dont bother. Once youve driven a couple of hundred km it will be just as bad again. If any gets pushed past the valves when cleaning it could cause bigger engine issues.

Hi greeves, the egr is blanked off and the pcv valve is filtered through a catch can and the the exit pipe is not fitted to the intake pipe, it is re routed out under the car, so once cleaned no sludge or carbon will enter into the intake system, there are some cleaners out there like LiquiMoly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrpxoxYmPsc but have no idea if this thing really works

Even so unless its quite bad its not very worth it. My thoughts would be scrape the ports out one at a time. Take the tappet cover off and work on a port that has the valve closed then turn the engine to the next closed valve. Vacuum it out thoroughly
