2.25" vs 2.5"

Post by ErikSA »

Hi, this is my first post to this forum.
I have a 1998 Isuzu Frontier 4x4 with the 4JB1-T engine and the following mods:
bullbar with led spots
2" lift kit
Rancho shocks with the Myride system
snorkel
Large front mount intercooler (from a Mitsubishi evo 6)
Boost @ 18Psi + fuel screw adjustment (as of today)
2.25' semi-freeflow exhaust (with ugly, restrictive looking bends).
I was wondering, would it be worth fitting a 2.5" freeflow pipe from the turbo all the way to the back, considering the mods I have done so far?
I am also planning to fit an egt gauge soon.

Original was 2 inch so your already 50% bigger. A 2.5 will work better but if the existing system is still good the gains might not justify the cost. If it needs work though then 2.5 is the way to go

I think Im just going to do it, even if all it does is lower the EGTs a bit.
