Flipping draglink

Post by nb422 »

Ive started to fit my 3.8 into the spare rolling body we have and was wondering if anyone has ever flipped the draglink that runs between the pitman arm and idler arm so it sits underneath? This gains the perfect clearance I would need for the engine to mount nicely. Cheers

Both ball jounts are taper fittings as is the idler arm fitting. The steering box is a tapered spline. Not sure how you could flip it vertically. Cant see and issue flipping horizontally though but might hit chassis

Yeah i've heard of people using a certain reamer and reaming it out so is only a half taper on the otherside and can be done after that, but at this stage it looks as though i only need 10mm more clearance so will just space up the engine mounts to suit
