off road tracks in Menai, NSW

I remember as a child my uncle would take me to Menai where they had off road tracks for public use. many 4x4s and dirt bike owners used these tracks.

With time i recall all the dirt bikers getting pulled up by police due to unregistered bikes.

I havent heard much about this place of late but i have read a few post on other forums about it being fully closed due to the land being sacred aboriginal land. then i heard some 4x4 clubs had access to the tracks as they made a deal to clean the place up once a month.. would anyone on here have any idea what the legality is of these tracks these days?
