Changing the timing belt
Belt for a 4JG2 3.1 is a Gates T844
Belt for a4JB1 2.8 is a Gates T966
You need to take the radiator out then the fan and fan belts and put the motor on top dead center. Then remove the 4 12mm headed bolts on the crank pulley and remove the pulley DO NOT remove the big bolt in the center of the pulley. Once the pulley is removed the timing cover can then be removed. Release the Tbelt tensioner and remove the cam and pump belt guides slide the old belt off and replace.
10kg weight for the belt then Toque the bolt to 56 lb.ft/76 Nm
Belt guide bolt toque 15 lb.ft/20 Nm
