96er Bighorn - Bigger tires

Hey guys,

Got a spare set of AT tires off a Navara. Size 265/70/16. I am currently running 245/70/16 more highway pattern tires.
I'm aware the 265er have a bigger diameter.

I am running 70% in town, pulling trailer, also odd camping trip and across country.

Wondering if it's worth putting them on my rims. Will there be a noticable difference in
- speedo reading (actually it is showing more than GPS shows)
- shifting gears (auto trans; will change 3rd/4th gear be affected much?)
- general handling/wear
- fuel economy

I am also being offered another set of 4 tires coming off a ute. Highway pattern. 235/70/16. Like new. $200 incl. rims all together. Might have just the opposite effect?

Probably wont even notice the difference. Speedo will still read higher than gps speed but not by as much. Are you using the Navara rims? Double check the offset just in case. Make sure the tyre tread remains within the guards. AT tread will use a fraction more fuel but you might not even notice.

=> The Navara rims don't fit on the Bighorn. Centre bore is way too small. I'll be using the factory Isuzu ones.

If that helps anyone: The 265/70/16 run way better than the 245/70/16. Like a dream. Auto gearbox shifts more to what you want. Just a dream in curves.
