Hi all.
I recently had a clutch changed and the mechanic broke the 4WD indicator light lead on my 1990 Jackaroo. After a trip off road I drove for 100kms on the tarmac. I only realized my mistake when I slowed down and tried to turn a corner. Everything seems to be working but the transfer case is leaking at both joints and the pinion seal. The gear box is out now and will be inspected and repaired, but I wonder what other damage I might have caused. Any constructive comments?? I know it was stupid. Many thanks.

They have a strong drive line I doubt you would have damaged any thing and if it has manual hubs and they weren't engaged there would no strain on the drive line

Many thanks for your reply. The hubs were locked and the transfer box was whistling. It over heated and leaked at the joints and pinion seal. I filled it up at Alice and Coober Pedy then headed home. I was told the rear drive should be OK but the front might be damaged. I guess I'll just try it out in the sand hills and see if something breaks.

At least I'll change the oil in the front diff. I know where the drain plug (bolt) is now after reading the other posts.
