Cranking too long

Morning starts are taking a crap load of crank, all this after removing the dual battery system and putting in a brand new battery. The glow light only comes on a couple seconds at a time, But this wasn't a problem before, usually it'd start first of second crank...this morning was more like 15...any ideas??

Possibly you have dislodged a wire playing with the batteries that has confused the glow timer. This uses coolant temp to set the time. Noting your other post on the alternator how charged is your battery. Low voltage will cause slow cranking and hard starting

Hi Geeves,
Brand new battery, will check for any loose wires tomorrow, re my other post I put the multimeter on the battery, it read 12.6V then while running which dropped to 12.25V...Im guessing this is a bung alternator. I do have a spare that I'm going to fit this weekend...hope it brings a result.
thanks so much...if it weren't for this site I'd probably gotten rid of my MU lol
