Squeaky Tailgate!

Hi all!

New to the Forum and the proud owner of a 1992 MU.

Trouble is my tailgate is extremely squeaky. I've seen suggestions for getting a rubber mallet and testing all the points... But what are people's own recommendations on fixing a squeaky tailgate?

I'm not sure if it is the same arrangement, but on my Jackaroo, the offending piece was the little wedge shaped piece of plastic on the underside of the door which gives some support to the door when closed. A quick hit with silicone spray fixes it every time.

Usually just a case of adjusting the catch. Does your tailgate glass also pop open at random times?

I think it might be the trim seal. Yeah I'll try some silicone see if that works.

Nope stays closed when shut
