I was planning to swap the VIN numbers over because mine has reg and wof. As far as I'm aware..... the chassis code is on the physical chassis and me removing the vin number and putting on the new body isn't illegal?
Hopefully someone can come in and correct me if I am wrong.

To be honest I haven't looked on a MU, but it's not uncommon for vehicles to have numbers stamped on the body (Toyotas do). Seriously go to VINZ in Packham crescent and ask them about it, they do all that sort of stuff and can make sure you do it the easiest way and are pretty good to deal with.

Yeah it might be the way to go.

I may yet just do a motor and suspension swap over to this new truck. Might be an easier way to go.

The chassis number (of the actual chassis) is stamped on the outboard side of the rear chassis rail. You can see it by looking in the right hand rear wheel well. It is forward of the rear diff bump stop.

The chassis number (of the body) is on a strenghtening member under the front passenger seat (seat out, lift up the carpets).

These may both be in other places also.

Very soon I'll be starting my swap over. I've just secured a set of 35s.

Will I be able to get away with my current sus lift with a body lift and grinder work to make it all fit?

Only way to change numbers legally is to get both vechile id and take it to vtnz and pay to get it all changed over there is alot of paper work to make it all match up properly, 35 fit with front gaurd cutting, 33 are far big enough for an isuzu

The other truck is still got a wof. So I might just run with that and dereg my old one.

Is there anything I can do to help the CVs last longer? Obviously most of it is down to the driver.

not fitting 35s will help a lot. Reducing lift or dropping diff helps. No foot flat in the corners too

I'm unsure if its the tires or if its me being used to smaller road suitable tires. But the "no foot flat in the corners" in the wet... Curb got mighty close
