50 k for a new truck ouch the Colorado's I would not buy real bad turning circle on them I haven't driven the new MX-U yet they are both way out of my price range.
The turbo I would take the actuator off the old turbo and try that one on the new turbo and see if it boosts the new turbo up better do you have a boost gauge on the wizard.
As for the oil leak I would get some of that engine stop leak stuff and see if that stops the oil leak from the seal before I would spend 50 k on a new truck.
I have a new turbo coming for the 2.8 I dropped in the mu because there is to much turbo lag with the 3.1 turbo I have on it at the moment it boosts to 15 psi but it is for a intercooled engine.

i dont have a boost gauge, but turbo feels fine. I think Mtq just wanted me to buy a new turbo off them, as they didnt tune or dyno the engine.
Engine wont start easy, but drives fine.
Exhaust is blowing white smoke. Which ive been told could be timing.
Need to know what the fuel pump dial in settings for 4jg2.

Mrs is due in september for our 1st child.

I would say the timing is out a bit white smoke and hard to start are usually the signs. I'm with geeves what they said about the turbo hasn't enough boost what a load of crap from Mtq they sound like they don't know what their talking about or trying to rip you off.
Geeves would know which way to advance or retard the pump for the timing rotating it in or out.
The boost gauge I have is from super cheap and works a treat I think it cost $ 50-60 when I bought it a long time ago.
Congratulations to you and your misses on the new bubby on the way in September Ben.

boost guages are easy Juist connect to the pipe between the inlet and turbo 15 is ok both my trucks are boosting that Dont ask me about the timing Thats robs arena I do know you need a dial guage.
Also know that to advanced it will knock on load so you could advance till it knocks then back off till it stops. Rough but will get you home

How did you get on with the wizard Ben have you got it all sorted out.
I have had my share of dramas this weekend as well new turbo came took old turbo from the 3.1 out gone to put new turbo in nothing lines up to engine water pipes oil pipes so undone bolts rotate turbo all ok lines everything up this is looking good not much thread showing on bolts enough to get done up then putting on dump pipe this don't look right touching clutch master cylinder finally gets it on start truck up take truck for very short drive funny whooshing noise turn truck off oil coming out from oil return check bolts seem ok pull turbo off truck turbo a lot thicker metal at the back where exhaust bolts on and where it bolts on to the manifold DOH why didn't I notice it so got the original 2.8 turbo after a few curse words I install it gave it the by Jesus to it boosts up to 15 psi no leaks no noises I was gob smacked all this stuffing around for 2 days.
Then to top it off I thought lets do the fuel filter never done it since I have had the mu wouldn't budge take the whole filter out to the vice in the workshop broke the filter remover trying to undo it out comes the big hammer and screw driver I drove the biggest screwdriver right through it still hard to undo put a bar on it finally lets go undo full of gunk and some rust as well new filter on back in mu what a weekend I've had time for a VB me thinks.
