Help my 2.8 bighorn just died

Post by kaiyakfisher »

Hi all, Im a new member. I have a 91 bighorn with a 2.8l DT engine and it just died on the way home. How do I find out what engine it is so that I can look up specs etc? Ive read some of your blogs but I don't recognise any of the numbers / letters that you are using to identify your engines. :? Can any one help with identification and where to find a manual? Thanks.

this is the engine manual
The rlf is the option code for the 4jb1 engine Its not much other help
When you say it died what happened?
My bighorn might be up for sale at some time but its got lots of wrinkles some rust etc but the engine is still good there is a winch on the front and a locker in the back although these 2 items are negotiable. I have a spare lsd that can go in as well. Im still looking for a suitable replacement but havnt found what I want yet.

timing marks are easy. A 10mm bolt in each pulley. Goes through a hole in pully into a tread in the block
