Atvers trick for cables -clean as above, hang by one end, tape a small funnel at the top, fill with silicon spray and let it soak down overnight. When the silicon dries it leaves a nonstick coating where oil attracts dirt A bit more work but they last longer

A while ago I ran into a spray that had suspended teflon in it. That would possibly work better but it was 5 times the cost of CRC. Its 8 or 10 years since I did my cables and they only got engine oil.

Thanks guys. I know the cable trick. I was advised when I bought the cable last year. The other Mu's I ran into were not from here. I pointed them in this direction though.
