COOL , sounds like you have identified at least one problem! Fitting a 12 volt helper pump should also give you some more poke! After you get your r/worthy done you can adjust a few other bits and pieces for more power!
Re: SMOKE ON COLD START UP
started it this morning still some smoke but no where near as much as before it still has a miss and at each miss it puffs out more smoke but ok when hot i am glad i am getting this sorted it takes away the urge to take it for a drive before roadworthy

Re: SMOKE ON COLD START UP
I put mine between the tank and hand primer, cut the rubber fuel line about 2 or 3 inches after the steel line ends near the firewall and slot it in there.

In a Pickle again.. I'm wondering if I've got a leak in my filter hand pump or water trap.
I changed the filter a couple of weeks ago, started it straight away idled for 15 minutes and turned it off,
3 days later started it to take for a warrant and it starved of fuel and died whilst idling!
I ended up dragging more fuel through and getting it going, took it for a decent drive to check it and all good.
A few days later started it up to take for a spin and same thing happened, died whilst idling ..
I took filter off and found a smaller seal (pictured) under my truck which I presumed was meant to be in the filter as if fit perfectly??
I reinstalled the filter.. tightened it a bit extra this time, replaced spring clamps with hose clamps on fuel lines, dragged more fuel through and she ran sweet. Again I've taken it for a few 10 - 20k trips, all good!.

Missus took it out on a short trip yesterday and when I came back I got in it to move it and same thing, this time it was idling ok but I got out on the street and it started starving of fuel again..
I've taking the filter off again, the water trap had probably 1/4 of a turn in it so I've cranked that!
The hand pump has never really worked on top of the filter it never pumps up firm so I'm wondering If I should replace the whole unit?
I'm just hoping its not the pump!!!
Cheers in advance!!
