Looking by the year, I guess he owns an imported UBS69. That would be a 4 cylinder 3.1 diesel engine (4JG2T), not the chevy V6 version.
If that's the case a 2.8 MUA gearbox will bolt straight to the 3.1 engine.

They were sold in the UK as Vauxhall Brava, Bedford Brava and Chevrolet Luv. I'm sure you can find a couple of them at wrecking yards.

It looks perfect as a toolbox for my tray ....Unfortunately Trademe doesn't work for overseas people as me.
