Balancing Flywheel and Tool to Install Rear Main Seal?

Gentlemen,

As noted in my last post, I'm upgrading the flywheel in my 2.8 Turbo Diesel MU to a flywheel from a 3.1 Turbo Diesel. Where can I find the specs to have the new flywheel machined and balanced? (The data isn't available here in the USA.) Is the flywheel internally balanced or externally balanced?

While the transmission is out, I will also replace the rear main seal. (It's called the "seal, ring, crankshaft, rear" in parts catalog.) Do I need a special tool to replace this seal? If so, where can I purchase the tool?

I'm also replacing the oil pan gasket. That doesn't need a special tool, correct?

Also, the part numbers for the bolts that attach the 3.1 flywheel to the crankshaft are different than the parts numbers to attach the 2.8 flywheel to the crankshaft. Are the bolts for the 3.1 flywheel longer?

Thanks for your help!
Bill

The tool to install the seal is available at the following websites:

Does anyone know where I can find the tool to remove the seal?

Thanks again!

just use a screw driver, pry the seal out then just bend the speedy sleeve till you can get it off the crank, normally takes about 5 min
