diff ratio.

Post by rustyvr4 »

without the tag on diff housing. how do i tell what diff ratio my 1997 mu is running. 3.1 manual if this info helps. i,d like to remove front diff totally as this beast hardly see,s dirt. At 100km/h motorway driving its pulling nearly 3000 rpm, id like to change diff ratio to lower this rpm, if this possible?

I see your thinking, but your front diff is not engaged unless you have 4wd system engaged. only your front wheels and hubs will be spinning, removing the front diff will do nothing for your road driving. :)

3k at a 100kph is not rare for a MU but its alittle high, do you have small wheels on? factory is 31 inch wheels or maybe your tachometer mine sometimes jumps between 2600 and 3100 rpm doing motorway speed.

S2J FINAL RATIO 43/9
This means 4.55/1
S7C FINAL RATIO 43/10*
This means 4.3/1
There is also a 4.8 diff but no one has ever seen one
