Overdrive Faulty???

Hi all!
Just a question.
My 92 Mu auto overdrive light is meant to come on and go off when I disable or engage overdrive.
If I've got overdrive on, the light stays off for a little while... And then starts blinking.
This happens if I'm over 50kmh or if it's slightly cold...
Checked the manual and it says this is a fault code telling me that there's a problem with the overdrive transmission.
Trouble is, there is no problem!!!( well not that I know of at least) she drives just fine with nothing out of the ordinary.
I suspect the sensor might be wrong but yeah... Any ideas?
