Hi guys,
I got a 96 bighorn 3.1 auto and it stuck in 4wd.
light on dash showing I have checked the 4wd selector and it is in right. I even tried using a screw driver to push cup forward just in case selector arm is bent but to no avail.

Any ideas? Is there a vacum or fuse that might have gone?
was going fine until yesterday I am thinking that maybe the selector got knocked into 4wd but now I cant get it to release

i just looked underneath and saw on passenger side of front diff there was a hose that appears to be from on top of hub end of front diff.
I think but my "expert" (yeah right) detective work I think its the breather for "on the fly" selection.
But I didnt think that I had that on this model I thought it was the model for 4wd button not the manual selector I have
Can someone tell me if I am completely on wrong track

hose plugged back in light for 4wd still stayed on. I unplugged the Shift Switch conector ( the plug at front of diff) light went off and seems to be in 2wd now.

Still dont know what problem is but will it damage it when I drive it to the mechanic

First try labeling both hoses on the big disc thing on the front diff. Then try reversing them. This should make the 4wd light go out and take any stress off the drive train. You may have to drive forwards and backwards a few meters to get it to drop out.
This will get you home.
Diagnosing the electronic sotf will need a multimeter and a copy of the manual from my mediafire post. If your lucky you have a faulty solinoid

probably no damage. Isuzu transmissions are very strong. Dont do it all the time though. major tyre wear will be the result
