sound and smell deadening

Has anyone attempted to make their MU a little quieter and smell less?

sometimes i have issues hearing the radio and the smell of diesel is enough to scare my wife from sitting in the passenger seat

factory carpets and sound deadening in the Mu are quite good for a standard vehicle. If thats what you have you have a noise that needs fixing be it an over loud exhaust or a metal contact to the body that shouldnt be there.
Likewise diesel smells shouldnt be there. You have a exhaust of bad design or condition or you have a diesel leak that needs fixing
