I have emailed 4wdstuff.co.nz as they advertise a pair labelled "036-HOL101H" as the leaf to suit the Mu. Not this "HOLD004C" that Ironman sent me.

Why did you need to cert your springs? Ironman want to try them in my truck so they are going to fit them- if they dont fit they will refund me. They say that the leafs need to sag and get a new memory in them after having some weight on them for a while.
Im interested to see the result and have nothing to loose if they work staight away- will be testing them after the truck has been sitting for a day to see if I can invert the shackle at all.

had to cert as only aloud 2 inch lift without cert, i had 3 inch plus a list of other modifications, mine took about 6 months to sag enough so shackle was straight but still inverted when the wheels come off the ground, i just carried a cut down torsion bar to flip them back over

Is it a hard landing on inverted springs?

on the drivers side it hit the fuel tank gaurd only inverted on passenger side, na it was ok only down part was truck sat uneven and wasnt nice to drive, also you lose alot of travel the more you bend the springs, old flat leaves flex the best

Got to the Wellington Ironman dealer just after work today and bad news- the springs arnt right for the truck...
The shackle inverted and I was told they needed to be longer overall to reduce the shackle angle when the spring is fully extended.
So Im on the hunt again for a suitable lift option thats around 2". Might just look at a body lift and get that certed...

Spring over on standard leafs is worth it imo, especially if going to get it certed for a body lift anyway. Mine has 2 inch body as well as a spring over and cranked torsion to sorta level it out. Was easy as to cert too.

In Wellington Ken McAdams is the major certifier for 4wds. I know he is wary of spring overs

Had a look at that as an option- looks like it would raise it over 100mm! Apart from certifiers not liking it, I think the front would end up rock solid by the time I wound the torsion bars up enough to match it. Top ball joints would not only need to be shifted to under their mount but would need a spacer aswell.
I have had some luck finding a pair of dobinson leaf springs to suit my ucs55dw chassis- they have to come from australia but I should have them in 4weeks!
At this point I am no longer in a hurry to get them- as long as the next pair are correct for my Mu!
