So after installation of an electric thermo fan it basically exploded whilst 4wdriving at mount mee. Meaning i had no fan whilst trying to get back out to a main road. So i went back to old faithful viscous. I also instaleld a temp gauage and it reads between 85 - 92 degrees. Does this sound normal to you guys?

My pig horn with new radiator, thermostat, cap, hoses and original fan but no shroud runs about 80 just cruising but gets up to 90 under sustained heavy load.

If its less than 100 I would be happy.

Matt.

Thought i would throw some photos up from the past month or so. The Mu has been put through its paces recently. Some of the bigger tracks are landcruiser park were conquered and mud puddles at glasshouse mountains.

On another note. I replaced the original thermostat with a new tridon one. The old thermostat used to sit where you guys claimed (1/3 of the temp gauge) The new one seems to sit at halfway all the time. Its just bugging me knowing where it used to sit.

Enjoy the photos :D

Hey mate.
Sourced the reduction gears from independent 4x in america. Well worth it. Maybe one of the best mods i have done to the truck. So much more control now. Climbs like a mountain goat.
They are a 3 - 1 reduction set giving you a tad over 50 more reduction then the stock transfer case.
