Re: 4JB1T Compound turbo setup
So after the crank snapping incident I have almost finished building my spare engine. Crank may have had an issue due to a loose harmonic balancer about 6 months ago, this may have caused damage at the time.Anyway, have upgraded crank and a few other things including camshaft. 12mm pump is on its way as well. Also going to run the larger TD04HL-19t for the high pressure turbo, (original one was a TD04L-19t)

Have you got any photos of the hotside Paul? I'm looking to do something similar

Yes, here are some pics. I have all the manifold, turbos and pipework bolted on now

Excellent craftsmanship and quality. You did a great job making sure things were built with purpose, from the Wastegate outlet merging on an angle, to the bellows for stress free expansion, well done! Also love the v band, makes removal/ installation alot quicker.

Thanks for that. Took a bit of mocking up to get right and a few things were just a luck. (like still being able to take the rocker cover off. The atmospheric turbo can be removed in about 10mins, makes access to everything else a lot easier. Was quite difficult to get coolant and oil hoses running nicely and keeping them from contacting exhaust components. So I’m going to do all the coolant lines in 3/8 alloy hard line with AN fittings, 1/4 hard line for oil supply. These will go from some distribution blocks for both coolant and oil. Have to make up some 3/4 R14 stainless/Teflon lines for the oil drains, going to another block bolted to the dump in place of the factory drain.
