Front cover gasket?

Post by jellis »

Anyone know where i can get the gasket that goes between block and aluminium timing case?

i have oil and water leaking into timing cover through bolt holes.
supposedly the gaskets are different between belt and gear driven....

I may just gasket glue the whole thing back together. any one done this?

On the plastic cover for the belt drive there is no gasket. It is not sealed

im looking for the gasket that goes between aluminium plate and the block.
cast aluminium plate is bolted to block, plastic cover bolts into aluminium plate.

The fuel pump bolts to the cast aluminium plate.

What stardog linked me but for belt driven motor not gear.

holden said no, the one i got in my gasket kit was to suit gear driven and it leaks.

if you look at the page there is some writing with 4jg2 click on that and then gaskets and seals it shows a gear drive timing gasket might be the 1 your after.

You may find this helpful. In New Zealand these parts can be obtained through the Holden Dealer Network.
From memory this gasket is sometimes metal on some models.
