window winder
Hi has anyone done a window winder conversion from electric to manual on an MU 1991 2'8 TD, can't seem to get any parts for my busted winder, so the best option is to convert it to a manual set up if parts are available !
Re: window winder
Yep i changed mine from electric to manual ones very easy. I used a rodeo winder. Not sure if you have them in malta

Re: window winder
thanks pig75, do you know the parts number ? I found these on ebay but don't know if they are the correct ones, is it a straight fix ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/321529865547?it ... 23&vxp=mtr
Re: window winder
I would say yes. and it's a straight swap The only thing you will have to do is put a hole in the trim for the winder

pig75, can you tell me how you fitted the manual winder ? and where does it go on the door ? the door card has an insert where you can punch a hole, but on the inner skin there are no holes for the bracket to bolt on !

Re: window winder
I'm curious - do '95 pickups have cable driven window winders in the front doors? My '91 KB 4 door has winders with a geared arc to raise the front windows, but, a cable drive system in the back doors.
Perhaps the previous poster needs the geared arc type manual winders in his truck?

Re: window winder
This is where things can get tricky buying on ebay. EBAY is USA based and most USA based Isuzus were locally assembled and there can be substantial local content. As far as Im aware the Rodeo mentioned on EBay is known to us as a Wizard or Frontera but the Wizard I have has a cable winder.
One possibility would be to drill holes in the inner skin to mount the unit but make sure it will actually do the job once fitted.
The normal failure on the original winder is the plastic guide for the cable. Once this fails the cable is loose and winds itself up till it breaks. Fitting the new mechanism as in my previous post along with your motor will make things good as new
