Re: Diesel in Radiator
Thanks! I will do more research on prices. And I've found a few mechanics around the area who know more about 4JX1's.

Is this oil to heavy?

On the worksheet they have provided me it also says my car is a 3.1DT. which ...

Re: Diesel in Radiator
I got the 4jx1 back from HMC today. The mechanic put a newer brand oil in which he says he runs through his late model diesels. It's a 5w40. It's starting first pop unlike before.

also flushed diesel from radiator, flushed water from diesel tank and lines, replaced injector sleeves with ...

This engine was properly serviced and ran beautifully until the last mechanic put 15w40 in.

Re: Diesel in Radiator
so I'm taking the 4jx1 to my local holden dealer to get new injector sleeves and loom kits put in, radiator flushed and oil replaced with 5w30.

The Holden dealer reckons $30 for the 5w30 refill. I'm impressed with that price but does quality/price matter?

Am I about to face more ...

Re: Overfilling oil by 1 litre
I am not sure. I was charged for 8 litres and the guy wasn't sure about how much to put in. He said he filled it until the dipstick showed it was full. I can't smell diesel in the oil at this stage.

Overfilling oil by 1 litre
What would happen if my mechanic (not experienced with the 4JX1) put 8 litres in when it's suppose to be 7 Litres?

Re: Diesel in Radiator
I read somewhere that the UDS73 model was the engine Isuzu made which did not require the recall. Also the fault in with the injectors started showing signs around 50,000kms. You were lucky to make it to 100,000. ??
Yes I think you are right about the O Rings.
I have had a few mechanics ...
