It seized. The mechanic has been lookin for a replacement engine, but there isnt much out there thats either reasoble nick, or not really expensive. A full rebuild is looking like 5K, but rockers are proving tricky to source, and exorbitant from Japan. At least with a rebuild from a trusted mechanic ...

Cheers Geeves. Yes, managed to get it to my regular mechanic in Queenstown, but still no definitive call if its a write off, or a new head is required. All the more annoying is that two years ago a fault in my new turbo caused a runaway that destroyed the original engine with only 150K ish on the ...
