Re: A lot of play in cv axle at hub

I received the later model knuckle seal parts from Cal Isuzu and they will fit perfectly. Looks like the knuckle seal design changed in 1996 and stayed that way for 20+ years. The original had two seal faces, the later model unit has three seals.
The seal parts you need from Isuzu are 8-98036595 ...

Re: A lot of play in cv axle at hub

Well here I am 4 years later on finally getting around to replacing the front hub axle seals on the UCS55 MU. I still use the original two part seals - 898036590 Oil Seal and 898036500 Deflector which are still available from Isuzu. I want to up date them to the better seal that I think is 898036595 ...

Wanted - Isuzu Mu Auto Trans 2.8 4JB1 Aisin 30-80LE

Hi all, I'm one of the strange members that prefers an automatic Transmission for off road work. I'm looking for a good condition trans to keep as a spare. Please let me know what is available. Thanks.

Re: Isuzu 4jb1

Are you still after the intake hose? If so let me know and I will look through my boxes. I removed mine when I added the intercooler. I think I still have it.

Re: Power steering problem - UCS69 Wizard

I have just fitted a new power steering pump to the Mu today. The old one was not working well in the bush, even after flushing the fluid. The new unit is a Chinese Aliexpress $65 unit (plus $60 freight), so should be interesting to see how long it lasts. First drive around the block, and lots of ...

Re: MU ARB diff lock

I just fitted a RD203 to the front diff, and the back is the older RD44 which as Geeves says may have been superceeded by the RD261.
The rear locker makes an enormous difference to the Mu, so much better than the limited slip. Its a must do. I only use the front locker as a get out of jail card ...

Re: No oil pressure for engine lubrication

Definately worth checking the oil relief valve. I had a car once that the oil light didn't go out. Found a piece of aluminium wedged in it that looked like it came from a piston skirt. Put it back together and ran fine. I guess the pick up strainer had fallen out or didn't have one. Might pay to ...

Re: Mech pump into efi truck and trans not changing right.

I don't know if this will help but in my 2.8 Mu the auto trans was changing late, and jumping down a gear or two at every hill. By turning the TPS on top of the fuel pump back as far as it will go the trans now changes normally and holds the gear up hills. Sooo much better! Good luck.

Re: A lot of play in cv axle at hub

Awesome guys. I will go hunting for parts. I will replace the top and bottom ball joints at the same time as those rubbers have split a long time ago. Should have done all of this when I first got the Mu but only did the CV boots, bugger. I'll let you know how I get on but might take some time to ...
