Re: 4JB1 stopping intermittently
There is also some sort of solenoid on the engine side of the fuel pump, anyone know what this is for?

Re: 4JB1 stopping intermittently
Ok thanks geeves will look into it. Is there anyway the solenoids on the back of the pump can cause an issue like this?

Re: 4JB1 stopping intermittently
Clear hose shows no air bubbles in the fuel hose between the filter and pump but when the car stops, there is no fuel left between the filter and IP although the filter still appears to be full (I have a glass bowl filter)

4JB1 stopping intermittently
Hi, been chasing an intermittent issue with my 2.8 rodeo for some time now. It runs perfectly and without warning will lose all power and stall and cannot be restarted until the primer is operated. On a few occasions it has failed to start for the first start of the day until primed and sometimes ...

Re: charging issues
I used a fluke multimetre for all testing.
I put a new altenator in today (OEX HXA081) and its charging perfectly. The problem I have now is that the motor wont turn off with the key. Anyone had this issue? All I did was put a new altenator in.
Thanks

Re: charging issues
No, the volts don't change with revs at all. The charge relay isn't very old.

charging issues
Hi, my 4JB1 rodeo has recently started staying at about 12.8v after the first start of the day for about 2 minutes before it goes up to 14v. The other night I noticed that it had dropped to 12.9V for maybe 3 minutes or so before increasing to 13.5V and stayed at 13.5 for 45 minutes. The next morning ...

Re: 4JB1 lights on dash
Where can I buy a relay? Are they hard to find? Can I drive the ute until I find one?

Re: 4JB1 lights on dash
Thanks geeves. I just had a play, the heater fan or A/C don’t work with the charge relay installed but if I pull the charge relay out they both work as normal. Does this sound like a faulty relay? What is the job of the relay if I’m still getting 14.2v with it removed? Is it safe to drive the car ...

4JB1 lights on dash
Hi, my ute is a 97 rodeo with 2.8TD. Every time I cold start the ute, the battery and water separator lights stay on for 5 seconds or so until the voltage comes up and out they go. Likewise if I ever go through deep water, these lights will illuminate for a short time before going out. This morning ...
